Down Side Up

The forecast was for rain all day, and this ’70s song by the Carpenters came to mind.

Talkin’ to myself and feelin’ old;

Sometimes I’d like to quit- nothin’ ever seems to fit.

Hangin’ around- nothin’ to do but frown,

Rainy days and Mondays always get me down…

What else gets me down?  Sweeping government reform, political overreach and a host of other things.  Am I the only one who feels like the world has lost its collective mind?

These two septuagenarians are my favorite singer/ songwriters of all time.  They performed together this month in Tampa.  I would have been refused entry without proof of the jab.

I’m sorry, but lightning speed, knee-jerk changes to my personal freedom leaves me feeling slightly off kilter.

Denmark ended all covid restrictions, including a  digital pass, after reaching an 80% vaccination rate of people over 12.

This week, India reported 11,242 recoveries, taking the recovery rate to 98%, the highest since March 2020.

For the record, I am not an “anti-vaxxer”,  I believe proven vaccines are wonderful.  I am, however, anti-mandate.

We all deserve the right to choose to participate in a non-approved drug trial where severe adverse affects are prevalent.

Using OSHA regulation, President Biden announced a vaccination mandate this month that would affect up to 80 million American workers.

A week later, the US Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals suspended the mandate, declaring it a “one-size-fits-all sledgehammer”.

Simply put, eminent domain is  governmental usurpation of private land and property for public use.

Anybody been keeping track of this lately?  You might be surprised by who really owns our farmland.

The US government seems to really like the western third of our country and Alaska.  State parks, anyone?

Our country’s wealthiest gentlemen collectively account for an additional 6 million acres.  Not too shabby.

But the winner of the most farmland prize (a whopping 242,000 acres!) goes to our friend Bill Gates.

In the meantime, a newly-passed congressional bill is going to put a “hurtin’ for certain” on the farmers intent on growing our food.

AgWeb Farm Journal is warning that shortages and rising prices of fertilizer, equipment, and seed will have to be absorbed by the consumer.

I began to get serious about growing my own food.  While “prepping” conjures up a panicky militaristic approach to survival, I would consider my efforts “preparing”.

It took about a week for the majority of my seeds to sprout.  I was so excited!  I felt like a new parent.

As my plants developed, I took inventory of the staples I had been picking up on sale.  Rice and beans store well.

I continued transplanting to larger pots as needed.  At three weeks, some have already been repotted twice.

Joshua deemed I needed a proper greenhouse.  I deemed it needed to be nearby if I was going to tend it properly.

Using entirely salvaged wood and windows, he built it in five pieces on the ground.  I was allowed to paint them.

Assembled, it’s a compact 5′ x 6′ with glass on all sides. Once the heat lamps are in, the babies will have a home.

On a somber note, two weeks ago, these eight people perished at a concert in Texas.  The youngest (center) was a 14-year old boy.

None of them expected it to be their last day on earth.  We must remember that life is short, eternity is forever.

God’s Word tells us the day is evil, but salvation for those who know the Savior is imminent.  These facts bring me unspeakable joy which overrides any discontent- I will not fear.

When your day looks like this, I would encourage you to find peace in His promises.  The Bible holds all the answers.  To those struggling to believe or understand His ways, reach out to me or any other Bible believing follower of Yeshua (His Jewish name).  God is not slack concerning His promises…  Love and hugs! MH

As usual,(I guess there are things in this world that are stationary), you hit the nail on the head! Yes, had heard about Gates buying up, not just farmland in America but many other countries (perhaps to create famine which then will cause the population to do anything they ask or take anything, such as the “mark” to get their food). We do see spoken of in Matthew, Mark, Luke and Revelation. Things are heating up quickly all over. Even here in Israel we are hearing of a possible “take-over” by the prime ministers, cutting out the Knesset members votes. Totalitarianism is on the move! Thankfully we know the God that has our back and gives us peace and hope amidst the turmoil. What a great generation to be in! Seeing prophecy being fulfilled seems like daily! Love and hugs! Miss ya!

OMG Marie! You are such a visionary! I had no idea how amazingly the “Barn” was going to turn out. At this stage, one can really begin to get the “feel”! I can just envision the main room filled with people from all walks and persuasions mulling around together under the wings and the shelter of the Almighty. I’m excited! You’re coming in the “home stretch” now and i know that you can “see your prize”. You remain in my fondest thoughts and prayers daily. Thanks for the update. Love, blessings and much shalom, CB
