EIN GEDI

The Egged bus from Jerusalem pulled into the rotary on schedule.  It was a warm day and the Dead Sea blended with the blue of the sky,  Jordan barely visible.

The rocks and vegetation are enormous, as witnessed by the perspective of the people I have circled or otherwise indicated.

It’s in one of these caves where David hid and cut off part of Saul’s coat as he relieved himself.  (1 Samuel 24:3-7)

Leah, my faithful friend, was always willing to accompany me on my various excursions and adventures.

Such a perfect day for a waterfall hike.  We were like children every time we found another one.

David’s waterfall was the destination for most hikers, but we continued to climb.

I was determined to get above the haze for a good shot of the Dead Sea and Jordan.

Spread out behind me is Ein Gedi kibbutz and assorted botanical and mineral water enterprises.

We began to pass hikers heading down.  When I got to the place where my nose felt ready to bleed, I felt I had the pictures I wanted.

The lighting and perspective made it a different journey down, and more surprises waited to delight.

Ibex may cause stones to roll down the slop…lol

Rock “face” took on a new meaning.

Families of Ibex came out at dusk to feed and frolic.  I added some yellow dots to help you see them.

As we head to the exit to catch the last bus back to Jerusalem, God shows us this masterpiece.  Halleluyah!
